This 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is one of just 600 examples produced worldwide. Its 4.0-liter flat-six produces 500 hp and 493 lb-ft of torque and was the largest ever fitted into a 911 in its time. 0 to 60 mph takes 3.8 seconds and top speed is 193 miles per hour.

This race-ready street machine is one of just 141 examples built for the United States (of 600 total produced). This special car is part of the 911’s 997.2 line and signalled the end of the generation before the 991 took the stage.
Porsche packed in the largest-displacement ever fitted into a 911 at the time. The 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six sends 500 horsepower and 493 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. The sole transmission was a six-speed manual. This beefed-up motor also marked the end of the Hans Mezger-designed engines. The Mezger name is legendary among Porsche fans, as he helped develop the first 911 engine.
The GT3 RS 4.0 motor uses forged pistons, titanium connecting rods, and a crankshaft borrowed from the 911 GT3 RSR race car. This unit was used to achieve a 7 minute, 27-second lap time at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife track. Porsche cites a zero to 60 mph time of 3.8 seconds, onto a top speed of 193 miles per hour.
Thanks to some carbon fiber panels and other parts, curb weight is down to 2,998 pounds. The large rear wing and functional dive planes on the front bumper help achieve a total downforce of 426 pounds at top speed.
The 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 sold for $185,000 when it was new, not including destination. Comedian and noted Porsche collector Jerry Seinfeld sold his personalized GT3 RS 4.0 at an RM Sotheby’s auction in 2019.
John Hua’s GT3 RS 4.0 sports Carrera White paint and a black interior, with aftermarket BBS wheels. He bought the car new and has put 17,000 miles on it since. This is the latest in a long list of Porsche vehicles for John.
“I’ve always been a Porsche nut,” John told Oloi. “I don’t buy anything else. This was the RS of the time. I have bought every new RS that ever came out.”
