The 2005 Hummer H2 is part of a vehicle line that was produced for just seven model years, but that doesn’t hurt its effect on the streets. The H2 is quite the sight when it takes a trip south of the border down Mexico way.
K Campos of Queens, N.Y. drives a 2005 Hummer H2. The single-generation H2 was manufactured for the 2003-09 model years. K’s H2 uses a 6.0-liter V-8 engine that produces 325 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
This Black General Motors truck has a curb weight of 6,400 pounds with a payload capacity of 2,200 pounds. The fuel tank holds a whopping 32 gallons. K has put 125,000 miles on his truck since getting it new.

K Campos’s Hummer H2 story
“I got this H2 in the summer of 2004. It was a trade-up from the 2003 Hummer H2 I owned before. I have always liked the Hummers and when they came out with the H2, I had to have it. Bigger, meaner, tougher than the rest.
“Some of the best stories I can share are my many trips to Mexico. That’s an amazing road trip in my book. In fact, you can say it’s the ultimate one. Going through so many cities and states, visiting new and unique places, etc. And then there’s crossing the border and immediately seeing the difference between the U.S. and Mexico sides.
“Some of the best stories I can share are my many trips to Mexico”
“As I was one of maybe 10 Hummers in Mexico, I can tell you that everyone stared and took pictures. My Hummer H2 actually appeared in a national car magazine. A reader submitted of a photo sighting of my truck and they published it.”
